Newton Johnson Albariño 2015

No dia em que tropecei nos vinhos de Anselmo Mendes, aqui na cidade do cabo e educava a lojista sobre o portfolio que estava na prateleira, eis que a senhora confessou que tinha um Alvarinho Sul-Africano da Newton Johnson, feito de … Albariño. Tendo estado outrora nas terras do produtor e ficado com a impressão que tudo andava próximo de um estilo cru, ao qual acresce o facto da casta dar-se mal fora do seu habitat natural, meti o vinho no saco para ver ao que vinha.

Tem um odor um pouco baço e simples. Só tem limão.

Para quem conhece a casta, sabe mantém as suas caracteristiscas básicas. Seco, arrepia e cola-se à carne. Tem limão, lima e tangerina. Que trio. Fresco, focado, afiado, só lhe falta a acidez cristalina. Termina limpo.

In the day I stumbled in Alselmo Mendes wines, here in Cape Town and I was lecturing the store manager about the wine portfolio, I was informed it just arrived a South African Alvarinho made from ... Albariño. I had been before on Newton Johnson and I found the wines character a little bit raw. On top of it, the grape does not goes well outside of its natural habitat, hence, I put the bottle in the bag in order to experience it.

It has a simple ans opaque aroma filled with lemon.

For those that are aware of the grape character, identifies that keeps the utterly characteristics. Dry, glues to the flesh. it have lemon, lime and mandarin. What a trio. Sharp and focused the only missing part is the fine and crisp acidity. Ends clean.
